Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 31, 2026

1. The short version

We collect the minimum needed to run the product: your email and sign-in identity, your subscription status, and the break data you type in. We never see your card number, we don’t run ad trackers, and we don’t sell your data to anyone. Ever.

2. What we collect

Account data. Your email address and authentication identity, handled by Clerk (our sign-in provider). We use your email to identify your account, send transactional messages (billing, product notices, the occasional “your board is ready” nudge), and answer support requests.

Billing data. Payments run through Stripe. We store your subscription status, plan, and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers. Your card number never touches our servers.

Break data. Everything you enter to run your shows: break names, spot lists, buyer usernames, prices, costs, notes, and ticker messages. Buyer usernames are public stream handles you choose to record; we display them only where you point an overlay.

Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, request path, timing) kept briefly for security and debugging. We also count how many people visit each day using a one-way, salted hash that rotates every 24 hours: no cookies, no identifiers stored in your browser, no IP addresses or device details saved, and nothing that can connect your visit today to your visit tomorrow. No third-party analytics or advertising trackers run on this site.

3. How we use it

To provide the Service: render your boards and overlays, sync your subscription, compute your break finances. To communicate: transactional email about your account, billing, and unused boards. To improve the product: aggregate, non-identifying usage patterns (how many breaks get created, where users get stuck). We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use your break data for anything except showing it to you and your stream.

4. Who touches your data (processors)

We use a small set of infrastructure providers, each receiving only what their job requires:

Clerk, sign-in and account identity. Stripe, payments and subscriptions. Neon, our database (US region). Vercel, hosting and serving the app. Resend, transactional email delivery. Internal operational alerts (e.g. “new subscriber”) are delivered to a private Discord channel and contain no more than your email address.

5. Overlays are public by design

Overlay URLs are unauthenticated pages meant to be captured by OBS and broadcast on your stream. Anything you put on a board, team claims, buyer usernames, ticker text, is visible to anyone who has that overlay URL, and to everyone watching your stream. Treat overlay links accordingly.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep your account and break data while your account exists, breakers rely on historical breaks for their finances. If you want your account and its data deleted, email support@breaktemplate.com from your account address and we will delete it within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax or legal reasons (e.g. Stripe invoice history).

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our database provider. Access to production data is limited to the operator. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your personal data we will notify you promptly.

8. Children

The Service is for adults running a business and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. We honor these requests for everyone regardless of jurisdiction, email support@breaktemplate.com and we’ll handle it, usually within a few days.

10. Changes

If this policy changes materially we will announce it on the site or by email. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
